15 November 2011: CK UNDER 14 MID SEASON REVIEW
Already we find ourselves half way through the season and thought it would be a good time to sit down and review our progress so far. I think we all find ourselves dissapointed with our league position and our pre season expectations of challenging for promotion would now seem a hard target to reach. However when we first all got together at the start of last season we did set down a rule that we would concentrate on the passing and movement side of the game and although we have lost 4 games this season I still believe we are still the best passing team in the league. Anyone who saw our training last Friday night would have been impressed with our quick passing and movement. We do need to strengthen other areas of our game though or we will not be able to have pocession of the ball to use our passing. This includes the more physical side, heading and tackling with more strength and more desire, an area which gets more and more important as the boys get older. Keeping our positions and keeping our shape and formation. We cannot switch play if we are all on one side of the pitch for example. I may have been harsh on the boys over the last few weeks as we have lost games where I think they have deserved more and should have won if it had not been for some basic errors. However one area I can not fault the boys is with their effort and commitment both at training and in the matches. With that continued attitude and the progress we are making in our passing play and with an improvement in the more physical side of the game I'm sure we will be heading in the right direction. When we play well in spells of games I can honestly say there is no better team in this league but we need to play like it for whole matches. I just cast everyones mind back to last seasons 1-0 win against top of the league Sarum Youth who were promoted. That is where we need to get our performances to and for them to stay. Hopefully that will start as we face a tough next match v Fordingbridge this Saturday. Remember.....WINNING ISN'T EVERYTHING...BUT WANTING TO WIN IS.

12 November 2011: CK ANDOVER 1 Clarendon 2
Before the start of the match CK spoke about bringing some more passion into their play and a desire to win and in the first half it showed with CK making some crunching tackles and more than matching a big Clarendon team. As in previous weeks though the old problem of not making a headed clearance or not being committed in the tackle led to Clarendon taking a first half lead. In the second half CK seemed to loose their shape and found it very difficult to get out of the own half and it was Clarendon who got the important second goal. Although CK kept going and pulled one back through a fine finish from George Daykin it was too late and Clarendon were the deserved winners. Again it seems that the will and desire to win the ball cost the team again. Player of the match went to Tom Haynes who battled in the midfield putting in some wonderful tackles. A part of the game the rest of the squad need to improve on.

06 November 2011: CK ANDOVER 3 New Street 6
Frustration again for CK who showed enough skill and determination to win the game but again came away with a loss. A first half in which CK dominated and led through an excellent curling shot into the top corner from Jordan Mumford, making his first appearance of the season after recovering from injury. However then New Street equalised against the run of play when CK could not clear a long street ball over the top. In the second half CK time and time again gave away soft goals through lack of concentration and mainly not heading the ball clear when given the chance. To their credit CK came back to draw level through a power blast shot from captain Tom Haynes and then a perfectly flighted free kick from Matt Blake into the far corner of the net from a tight angle. Then trailing 3-4 CK had a fanatstic opportunity to level again but nobody took the chance to smash the ball into an open goal. Two late street goals made the scoreline an unfair reflection on the match. Player of the match was keeper Edward Farrow for some fine saves at crucial times in the match. CK really need to stop the basic errors which are gifting their opposition goals.

15 October 2011: UNDER 14's GETTING FIGHTING FIT !
CK took their training to a new level this Friday when they were put through their paces by Harry Crockford. Harry is currently studying at the Frank Bruno Boxing Academy and has already had a number of fights. Harry took the squad for a 25 minute work out which included a number of new fitness ideas. Although Harry worked the squad hard it looked like all the boys enjoyed it. Many thanks to Harry who will be running another session soon.

08 October 2011: Wolversdene 3 CK ANDOVER 3
An exciting match that CK really should have won. Wolves took the lead in the first half but CK rallied around and soon equalised through George Daykin, proving that hard work in training can pay off. CK then took the lead with a well taken goal from Charlie Hampton, again after good play from George Daykin. The all important next goal again went to CK with Tom Haynes finishing well. CK really then should have closed the match out but again some lapses in concentration enabled Wolves to score twice eventually equalising with only mintutes remaining. A better all round performance from CK but still more to work on. Player of the match for CK was Tom Haynes for producing a real captains performance.
