29 September 2012: Saturday 29th September Away v Worthies TWYFL Division 2
Worthies 2 CK ANDOVER 4

Not a great performance but a welcome first 3 points of the season for CK. We started well not letting Worthies settle and George Daykin opened the scoring when closing down well, forcing the defensive error, and slotting home. CK doubled their lead when another attack forced a save from the Worthies keeper and Jord Mumford followed up to hammer home. CK 2 up and in complete control. Then CK went back to their old ways of not closing down or marking. Forgot all about their passing game and took to just kicking the ball without looking. Worthies took advantage and pulled a goal back from a corner. Two players unmarked at the back. The second half saw CK under pressure but to their credit they showed a passion and hunger to fight for the victory but Worthy pressure took its toll and they finally equalised. Two excellently taken goals from Jord Mumford and Brandon Tulk secured the win in great style. Not the best performance but 3 points. Player of the match was keeper Max McGrath. Great handling and a sensible performance. Passing and control on the agenda for the next training session.

21 September 2012: Friday 21st September away v Whitchurch TWYFL division 2
Whitchurch 6 CK ANDOVER 0

A game of two halves again as all the hard work of fairly even first half was wasted with a lack lustre second half display. CK looked solid all first half with Kamil Leandowski putting in some great tackles. Brandon Tulk and George Daykin worked hard up front and CK passed the ball well through midfield. A lapse in concentration and a missed tackle let Whitchurch in to nick a goal to lead at half time. The second half saw CK forget the main basics of football. Tackle, close down, and keep poccession. Struggling to get out of their own half they gave away the ball far too often and Whitchurch took full advantage. CK heads fell as the goals leaked. The squad know that they are better than this performance. We work hard to put thing right and go again next week. Player of the match was Liam Ryan for an excellent defensive performance full of effort.

12 September 2012: Pre Season Friendly
CK ANDOVER v Wolversdene U13
Weds 12th September KO 6:30 meet at 6:00 Wherwell pitch.
Wolversdene 0 CK ANDOVER 9

Tonight's friendly was never going to be about the result but another chance for CK to get some match practice in. CK played the first half with 3 touch only but never really got their passing together. Wolves closed down quickly and CK found their touch let them down. CK led 3-0 at halftime and resumed in the second half playing normal touch. This seemed to relax the players more and although the younger Wolves team played good football of their own CK put together some good passing moves to score some well taken goals. CK goalscorers were Jordy Mumford 5, Brandon Tulk 2, George Daykin 1, and Niall Kane 1. Preperation for the coming season going well but still lots for the squad to work on in training.

08 September 2012: Hampshire Cup Fixture
CK ANDOVER v Sarum Youth
Saturday 8th September KO TBA
CK ANDOVER 1 Sarum Youth 7

CK knew this would be a tough match against division 1 Sarum but did themselves no favours by conceding straight from the kick off and then conceded another 3 inside 20 minutes. Sarum were quicker to the ball and CK never matched them physically. Another 2 goals before half time saw CK trailing 6-0, but to be honest it was more sloppy play on CKs part than them being outplayed. CK had not much else to play for in the second half other than some pride and credit to them for achieving that. For large spells of the half CK dominated and deserved their goal back through an excellent finish from Brandon Tulk. Time after time CK player of the match Jordy Mumford skipped passed the challenges as Sarum could not handle his skill or pace. Unfortunately for CK the final ball never quite landing in the right place. On another day maybe a come back could have been on the cards. Sarum completed their scoring with a goal in the last minute. CK have to improve but can be proud of their second half performance in only their second match this season.

05 September 2012: Pre Season Friendly
Vernham Dean U14 v CK ANDOVER
Weds 5th September KO 6:30 at Vernham Deam. Meet at 6:00 at Vernham Dean.
Vernham Dean 0 CK ANDOVER 6

A good work out for the squad with some much needed match practice. CK used the ball well and found width in the opening stages of the game. As the first half went on the game became more stifled in the centre but CK always dominated and never looked in trouble. The second half saw CK continue to pressure Vernham. Strikers Jordy Mumford and Brandon Tulk started their campaign off well with a hatrick each but the whole squad can be pleased with a solid performance against a Vernham team that worked hard and never gave up. A good warm up to Saturdays cup match which we know will be a much tougher game.
