03 November 2013: PHYL League cup Quarter Final Tadley Calleva v CK Andover
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
Todays PHYL League cup Quarter Final game against Premier league team Tadley Calleva looked a tough game on paper and playing on the main Tadley Calleva pitch and in the stadium CK certainly rose to the occasion and surroundings and started the game attacking from the start Forcing Tadley Calleva to defend. CK had gone close on 2 occasions when they took the early lead they deserved with a piecing run and a really good Lobbed finish from Ben Synan, Within 5 minutes Ben had scored again after some good passing and movement and another good lobbed finish. Then on the very next attack Ben had secured his hat trick following up well after Lloyd Thompson had a good shot partially saved from the Tadley Keeper. CK kept pressing and the fourth goal came from Connor Mumford who drove into the box and slotted into the far corner. CKs fifth was another good passing move which resulted in Jordan Alexander playing a clever ball through Tadleys defence and Ben running on and coolly slotting home.
Half time, Tadley Calleva 0 CK Andover 5

After the break CK continued on from the first half and scored again when Ben forced the Tadley defence to panic and play a short back pass to the keeper he chased the short pass and chipped the advancing keeper. Tadley then scored from a corner again CK did not panic and went up the other end and some good link up play from Luke Nulty and Lloyd Thompson resulted in Lloyd cutting into the box and slotting home. Tadley then scored with a long ball from the defence into our half the forward rode a couple of weak challenges and put the ball away. Again CK pressed forward and from a corner From Sami Pollard-Crane, Cameron Nicel Flicked the ball on to the back post where Ben was waiting to secure his double hat-trick with a good header. Then 5 minutes later CK scored their ninth and best goal of the day, playing some Great passing football and good link up play between Lloyd Thompson, Luke Nulty whose pass to Connor Mumford was taken in his stride and smashed in from outside the area giving the keeper no chance.

Man of the Match went to Ben Synan for an outstanding performance he battled, harried and defended from the start of the game until the last minute and was rewarded with 6 goals. Well done today Ben your best performance today for a long time I am so proud of you and pleased for you. That is your bench mark for the season not necessary 6 goals every week but definatly that work rate.

Full Time, Tadley Calleva 2 CK Andover 9

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort all of you put in today but felt the football and communication could have been better, it did all improve second half as we had asked, I was also pleased with your attitudes when Tadley tried to rough it up your responded brilliantly did not react and kept trying to play. We are now into the Semi-finals of the cup lets not come unstuck at this stage like last year lets push on make the final. Well done to all of you again and see you Tuesday.

20 October 2013: Overton v CK Andover PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
In very wet and windy conditions like last week. But with todays game starting in a thunder storm. CK soon found themselves 1 up after some good link up play from Ben Synan and Cameron Nicel down the right with Cameron then playing a great cross which was met perfectly by Connor Mumford who headed home well. 5 minutes later the CK boys played some more good football and from a shot which the keeper could only palm away Lloyd Thompson was on hand to bundle the ball home. Soon after though CK conceded a free kick outside the area and the Overton player placed a powerful and accurate shot into the top of the goal. CK soon regained their 2 goal cushion when Connor Mumford drove into the box and drilled his shot across the keeper and into the bottom of the net,and within a couple of minutes CK scored again when Ben ran onto a great through ball and under pressure from the Overton defender and goal keeper kept his composure to slot home. CK then went to sleep for a while thinking the game was over but to their cost when a sloppy pass was made from the defence and the Overton player latched onto it rode a couple of challenges and shot home.

Half time, Overton 2 CK Andover 4

After the break CK actually started playing better football than in the first half with some really good passing and moving football, especially down the wings with both Jordan Alexander and Luke Nulty doing well battling for everything and playing some good link up play with the central midfielders and Forwards. But CK just could not find the back of the net eventually CK scored their fifth when Connor completed his hat trick with a unstoppable drive in the top corner from outside the area. CK again bombarded the Overton goal and the next and final goal of the game came when Cameron Nicel collected the ball outside the Overton area beat a player and lashed home an absolute screamer from just outside the area. Although CK controlled and dominated the last 15 minutes and kept Overton pinned in their own half CK could not find the net again despite going close on several occasions.

Man of the Match went to Luke Nulty as he battled for everything made some great attacking runs and was strong on and off the ball and linked up well with the Forwards . Well done Luke your best performance for a long time keep it going. :-)

Full Time, Overton 2 CK Andover 6

Overall boys I was pleased with today, especially the second half performance as we spoke at half time about keeping the ball and the passing and movement and you did it very well. But I felt the communication in both halves could have been better. my decision of making substitutions was really hard again today and I was pleased that I was able to give every player in the squad a good amount of game time, you all worked hard when on the pitch.
Well done again and see you all Tuesday.

13 October 2013: Horndean Youth v CK Andover Rd 2 Hampshire cup
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
In very tough conditions and up against a very good Horndean youth side CK found themselves 1 down within 5 minutes the CK boys responded brilliantly and played their best football so far this season the passing, Movement and link up play was lovely to watch and the equaliser was deserved when the ball starting on the Left was played quickly to the middle and then out to the right where Connor played a great cross into the box and was met by Ben Synan who finished with a nice volley. 5 Minutes later CK went in front when Lloyd Thompson used his pace to the max running through onto a nice weighted pass and lobbed the keeper with a lovely shot. CK then extended to lead with some nice link up play and pretty football which found Lloyd in front of goal and his shot was well saved by the keeper and the rebound fell beautifully back to Lloyd who controlled well and shot into the empty net. CK then allowed Horndean a soft goal direct from a corner and the tie really exploded into life then as both teams battled for control and the play from both teams was good to watch.

Half time, Horndean 2 CK Andover 3

After the break both teams played in the same vein as the first half and each side had opportunities to score. Both keepers made some good saves and defenders battled and fought for everything in the end Horndean put a good move together of their own and scored the equaliser Both teams really dug in then pushing for the winner and working hard not to concede then with 6 minutes remaining Will played a ball out to Connor in the middle of the park exchanged passes with Kieran the ball was then played out wide to Ben who played a lovely cross to Lloyd who controlled expertly on his chest and then lobbed volley over the keeper into the net. The last 5 minutes was backs to the wall with Horndean playing a 2 4 4 formation the boys countered this by playing a 4 5 1 and battled well and saw the game out.

Man of the Match went to Jordan Alexander who played with great bravery he battled for everything made some great attacking runs and started some nice pieces of play resulting in a couple of goals. No matter where I played him on the Left and the right he gave everything for the team. Well done Jordie I want that every week from you now ;-)

Full Time, Horndean Youth 3 CK Andover 4

Overall boys I was very pleased, No not very pleased I am over the bloody moon with the effort, passion and football played today against some very good opposition and in very difficult conditions we went 1 down and responded brilliantly and played the best football of our season so far...
I felt the Passing, Movement and communication was good the tackling and commitment showed was first class my decisions of making substitutions was really hard again today. Now you have all put in a display like that i want to see it every week no matter what competition and opposition we are playing that is your bench mark now. I was again impressed with the fitness levels shown for the whole 70 minutes. Well done again and see you all Tuesday.

06 October 2013: CK Andover v Chineham Tigers PHYL League cup Rd1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
CK started this game very slowly and did not pass, Move or communicate and found themselves 1 down within 5 minutes this still did not give the CK boys the spark they desperately needed Kieran Rowe tried to lead by example in the first half but was trying it all on his own. CK were not just out muscled they were being outplayed and second to every ball with Chineham wanting to show that last weeks 6 0 loss against us was just a blip on their part. CK were then awarded a free kick just outside the area and Connor Mumford scored a beauty with a powerful curling shot, again this did not ignite the spark and CK were grateful for Half time and to go in level.
Half time, CK Andover 1 Chineham Tigers 1

After the break and a good team talk the CK boys ignored everything they were told and carried on playing in the same vein as the first half and within 20 minutes found themselves 3 1 down this then ignited the passion within the CK Boys who suddenly realised they were going out of the cup we swapped to a 3 5 2 formation and in a feisty end to the game CK BATTLED and began playing for each other and their team CK were then awarded a penalty in which Connor put away nicely, then with 7 minutes remaining CK scored their equaliser with a toe poked effort from the edge of the area from Ben Synan this really boosted the boys and deflated the Chineham team spirit then within 2 minutes the comeback was completed with a good run and cross from Sami Pollard Crane and headed in superbly from Hat trick hero and Man of the Match Connor Mumford. Then in the last 2 minutes CK scored again when Lloyd Thompson battled well ran into the area took the ball pass the keeper and slotted home.
Man of the Match went to Connor Mumford who drove the team on well never bottled a challenge and capped off a good game with a hat trick

Full Time, CK Andover 5 Chineham Tigers 3

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort and passion showed in the last 20 minutes but if we had shown that for the first 50 minutes then the game should not have been as difficult as we made it for ourselves I felt the Passing, Movement and communication could and should of been better I was very impressed with all your attitudes and battling qualities more importantly i was very impressed with the fitness levels shown for the whole 70 minutes those tough sessions on a Thursday certainly played a part today and we need to thank Lee for that.
As a team we can learn from today well done to all of you again as today was about getting to the second round of the cup and we did it see you Tuesday.

29 September 2013: Chineham Tigers v CK Andover PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
CK started this game where they left off from last week attacking from the start and Forcing Chineham Tigers defend. CK took the early lead they deserved with a piecing run and a really good finish from Connor Mumford, 2 minutes later Connor had scored again after some good passing and movement and another good finish. Then on the very next attack Lloyd Thompson got in on the act by finishing well after a breaking run and coolly rounding the keeper and slotting home. Chineham then started playing themselves and only some fine Goal keeping from Kieran Rowe and some great tackling and good play from all the defence but particularly from Angus McMahon who lead by example kept Chineham from scoring. Lloyd then got his second of the game who linked up really well with Jayed Alam exchanging a series of passes before slotting home from close range CK then scored again with a well struck shot from the edge of the area from Cameron Nicel after some good link up play with Luke Nulty

Half time, Chineham Tigers 0 CK Andover 5

After the break and a good team talk CK Totally changed the formation and with at least 8 players changing positions to prepare for the coming weeks, when we know a few players will be missing for various reasons. CK actually played some of their better football during the second half with the Passing, Movement and Communication much better and were unlucky not to add to the score line on several occasions Hitting the cross bar and their keeper making some good saves, But CK were also lucky not to concede With Kieran making at least 3 very good saves of his own. Ben Synan killed off Chineham and the game with a well struck shot from the edge of the area after a super pass from the back by Brandon Howells.

Man of the Match went to Kieran Rowe who reluctantly agreed to play in goal in Williams absence then played a complete blinder making some very good saves in each half.

Full Time, Chineham Tigers 0 CK Andover 6

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort but felt the football and communication could have been better first half, it did all improve second half as we had asked, We made some severe changes at half time for no other reason than we have players missing over the next few months and I need to know who can play where and I was very impressed with all your attitudes to these changes and I thank you for that. I thought Angus McMahon was a rock at the back today and played brilliantly he read the game and the situations superbly and did all the right things he would of been man of the match if Kieran had not been playing so well behind him. Well done to all of you again and see you Tuesday.

22 September 2013: CK Andover v AFC Newbury PHYL Dv 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
As we thought Todays game against AFC Newbury was going to be a stern test and so it proved. The game started with CK attacking from the start Forcing Newbury to defend but CK found their Keeper hard to beat and only some fine saves and poor finishing kept the scores level then on Newburys first attack they took the lead from a corner CK responded very well and equalised through a neat lob from Lloyd Thompson and then took the lead through Connor Mumford and extended the lead through Kieran Rowe after a well worked corner Newbury then scored again after a dubious decision from the ref to give a penalty. Again CK responded well and gained their 2 goal cushion after another good finish from Lloyd then right on the stroke of half time the ref gave another Penalty to Newbury which they scored.
Half time - CK Andover 4 AFC Newbury 3

After the break and a good team talk CK Totally dominated the second half with their fitness really showing through the confidence began to grow and playing up the hill the football was simply brilliant to watch the movement on and off the ball was superb the communication also improved eventually CK scored again with Lloyd Thompson completing his hat-trick the sixth goal came with some good link up play and tucked away with a real poachers goal from Jordan Alexander CK then never looked back and a well taken and brave header from Ben Synan killed off Newbury the 8TH goal was finished really well from Alex Farrow when set up from a great cross from Ben.
Man of the Match went to Lloyd Thompson for a great strikers performance he battled well and defended from the front scored three and had 2 assists.

Full Time - CK Andover 8 AFC Newbury 3

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort and the football played today. Again when you were given your chance on the pitch you took it with both hands and made my decision making substitutions VERY hard. I was also happy that when we conceded an early goal we responded very well and when some harsh decisions went against us you just rolled up your sleeves and fought even harder we showed great maturity regained our composure and shape and continued to play football and saw the game out in real style. Well done all again and see you Thursday.
