21 September 2013: CK ANDOVER 0 Clarendon Juniors 2
Same old Same old for the Under 16's today and I feel quite demoralised myself. The game started well for CK with some good pressure. Playing 5 along the midfield did seem to stop Clarendon from breaking through but we still did not use the midfield to good effect and had no width, also just playing the lone striker seemed to stop us from breaking ourselves as the ball just kept coming back. Having said that the team held firm for the first half without too much problem. We spoke about playing our football at half time and decided that moving to a 4-4-2 would help us and provide more support up front. As previous seasons though CK couldn't handle a bouncing ball which led to a scuffed cross and a scuffed shot finding its way into the far corner. CK then forgot about how football should be played and resorted to long balls over the top time and time again. The Clarendon quick defenders normally dealing with the pressure. Having said that CK carved out 5 or 6 good chances but as again previous seasons came to haunt us we could not finish any of them. Clarendon then broke away and with the striker clean through Keeper Edward Farrow came out to claim the ball only for the Clarendon striker to fall over him and the referee giving a very dubious penalty to say the least. Clarendon tucking the penalty away to make it 0-2. Our football today was very disappointing. Our passing game was almost non existent and we all need to bring what we do on the pitch in training and use that in our match play. A massive plus in the match was how we match a much bigger team physically all over the pitch. None more so that Callum Holdway Lopez who was Player of the Match for a great battling performance. So a poor performance but a match where we still could have got something out of the game.

14 September 2013: CK ANDOVER 4 Alderbury 0
A great start to the season for the SCUBAIR sponsored Under 16 squad. The match dedicated to Niall Kane's Grandfather who sadly passed away recently, the squad gave a performance I'm sure he would have been proud of.
The first half started with both teams full of passion and the early exchanges were pretty even. As the half progressed CK took more control of the game and with James Broadbent using great skill on the right wing they began to create a number of chances. The only down side of a very positive half was that CK didn't convert the chances or perhaps get enough bodies in the box to finish of the flowing football moves.
The second half mirrored the first with CK in control and finally their pressure paid off. Charlie Hampton finishing well. Within a minute Charlie grabbed his second and that paved the way for CK to relax and really start to play some excellent football. Switching play from side to side with great confidence. Kamil Lewandowski smashed the third in from outside the box and then up stepped Charlie to complete his hatrick with a great goal straight from the keepers kick. Now in complete control CK could have doubled the score but found the Alderbury keeper in fine form. So a very encouraging start to the new season but lots of hard work to come. Player of the match goes to hatrick man Charlie Hampton for some terrific finishing.

31 August 2013: Friendly v Under 15's
With 8 players missing it was a chance for the rest of the squad to grab the opportunity to impress in this Pre season friendly v the U15 team. The first half saw the under 16's showing little communication and with some players playing out of position the play didn't seem to flow. They seemed to be looking for the ball over the top too often and were misjudging that pass on the slope. They did however grab two well taken goals thanks to Jordy Mumford and Matt Blake. At half time we spoke about communication, passing to feet, and putting constant pressure on the opposition. The team took that on board and produced a much better performance. Further goals from Jordy Mumford 3, Matt Blake adding another, and two from James Broadbent completed a good performance. Although the game highlighted areas to work on their was a number of positives. Top performances from Niall Kane and Kyle Fancy in the defence, Matt Blake commanding at corners, great battling and pressure from Lewis Reed and Brandon Tulk and some top finishing from Jordy Mumford. A good Pre season work out. Many thanks to the U15 squad who battled well throughout the match, hit the crossbar and produced a great move that saw an outstanding save from keeper Edward Farrow.
