09 March 2013: Saturday 9th March 2013 Away v South Newton Wishford TWYFL Division 2
South Newton 2 CK ANDOVER 2

Firstly a mention to Dan Graham and Matt Lovering who did not get on the pitch today, and Justin Miller who only played a short time. Your attitude when told you would not be playing was a credit to yourselves and CK. And that really mirrored our attitude on the pitch. We matched high flying Newton in every department and didn't really deserve to trail at half time 1-0. In some matches this season we have started the second half's very sloppily but not this time. CK pressured Newton not letting them play and then attacked in numbers. It was that pressure that finally paid off when Kamil Lewandowski showed great strength to charge into the penalty box and prod home. That seemed to shock Newton and a great cross by Jordy Mumford was slid home expertly by Brandon Tulk to give CK a deserved lead. CK held the lead until the final 10 minutes when Newton broke with pace, skipper Tom Haynes nearly managing to clear of the line but the ball creeping over to make it 2-2. The final minutes were end to end and Charlie Hampton so nearly won it in the final seconds with a shot that just missed the top corner. Too many top performances again today, including keeper Ed Farrow with some great saves, to choose one so again the whole squad earn player of the match. I hope all the squad can see what can be achieved when we are on our game. A fantastic morning. Well done everyone.

02 March 2013: Saturday 2nd March Away v Redlynch TWYFL Div 2
Redlynch 2 CK ANDOVER 4

A return to winning ways for a CK team that showed fight and determination in a physical battle with Redlynch. Although CK never looked in trouble at any time during the match they had to work hard and owed a half time lead to two well taken goals from Charlie Hampton. The second half was a mirror of the first with CK getting the all important next goal with Charlie Hampton hitting a great volley to complete his hatrick. Then a well worked corner swung in by Tom Haynes could only be helped into the net by a Redlynch defender. Now leading 4-0 CK turned off their concentration allowing Redlynch to get 2 goals back, For the remaining minutes it was a physical battle and to their credit CK stood firm and matched Redlynch all the way. A well deserved win for CK and great to see the team fighting as one when the game turned physical. Player of the Match is Charlie for a great display of clinical finishing.

09 February 2013: Saturday 9th February 2013 1/4 Final away v Sarum Youth
Sarum Youth 5 CK ANDOVER 1

"The best team we have played against this season". The compliment from the Sarum management team commenting on our first half display in this 1/4 Final cup match. We knew it was going to be a near impossible task to match high flying first division Sarum but the lads produced a performance full of heart and physically matched and out played Sarum for a good 60 minutes. The first half saw CK winning every ball and cutting open the Sarum defence time and time again. Jord Mumford through on goal but hitting the post, a great save from the Sarum keeper again to deny Jord the rebound. A great cross from the right that flew along the line just needing to be tapped in. Constant pressure from CK that Sarum just didn't expect and couldn't handle. But like all top teams Sarum had one chance in the first half and scored. Trailing by one goal at half time CK started the second half exactly like the first, again Jord Mumford coming close. Charlie Hampton then unleashed a powerful shot that was heading in before being well blocked by the Sarum defender. Then as the half went on the hard work and constant pressure started to tire the CK boys and Sarum found more space and made this count. The CK heads started to drop and Sarum took advantage and soon led by five goals. CK grabbed a well deserved goal towards the end with a fine finish by James Broadbent. A score line that doesn't reflect the match but as with all level of football goals change games and we didn't take our chances when they came. Lots of top performances today boys so player of the match shared by all the squad. A great cup match where we very nearly caused the shock of the round.

05 January 2013: Saturday 5th January 2013 Home v South Newton TWYFL Div 2
CK ANDOVER 0 South Newton 3

Happy New Year !
First game back after the Christmas break and with no training it was always going to be difficult against league leaders Newton but to their credit CK took the game to them and competed extremely well. CK held firm in the first half winning tackles all over the pitch, the back line working well and catching Newton offside numerous occasions. Battling hard in midfield and pushing on the break enabled CK to create a great chance. Charlie Hampton doing well on the left and Brandon Tulk just shooting wide. Newton then took the lead with a long range shot that keeper Edward Farrow got his hand to but couldn't turn around the post. The second half saw CK concede twice more and let their heads drop but then came back into it with both Jordy Mumford and Tom Haynes coming close with long range shots. Overall CK can be very satisfied with the performance which on another day could have seen them earn a deserved point. Player of the match goes to Liam Ryan for a top display at right back who also showed great composure when on the end of a bad tackle from a Newton player, a yellow card that could have and maybe should have been red.

08 December 2012: Saturday 8th December 2012 TWYFL League Cup Away v Redlynch
Redlynch 0 CK ANDOVER 6

CK totally dominated this cup match from start to finish and thoroughly deserved going through to the next round. The first half started with CK on the attack and they soon led with a headed goal from Jordy Mumford. Charlie Hampton then added two with some excellent finishing and Brandon Tulk finished well to give CK a four goal lead at half time. Although leading by four goals CK never got their passing going. One area that was disappointing was the way we didn't keep pocession of the ball or use the ball well enough. The squad deserve great credit for taking on board what was said and played some great football in the second half. Jordy Mumford soon added a fifth and then completed his hatrick with a great left foot finish. CK were unlucky not to add to their total as they passed around the Redlycnh team. An outstanding performance from everyone today in anew formation that seemed to work. Player of the match goes to Kyle Fancy who at every opportunity got the ball down and passed his way out of defence.

24 November 2012: Saturday 24th November away v Fordingbridge Town TWYFL Div 2
Fordingbridge Town 4 CK ANDOVER 3

A shocking training session last night, 5 players missing, non stop rain, and away to a team that had beaten us 8-1 and 5-0 this season........to say I was apprehensive about this match is an understatement ! What I got today though was one of the best performances I have seen in my years doing this. A performance full of passion and desire. CK started well but Fordingbridge soon took the lead with a deflected shot. CK then took control winning tackle after tackle. Winning all first and second balls. When pocession came their way they used the ball to great effect and Charlie Hampton slotted home a deserved equaliser. Edward Farrow then came out twice bravely to save at the Fordingbridge strikers feet. The new back line of Niall Kane, Justin Miller, Jord Mumford and the inspirational captain back to his best, Tom Haynes took control of the Fordingbidge attack. Then step up Kamil Lewandowski to curl a 30 yard shot into the top corner. CK taking a deserved lead with a wonder goal. We knew the second half would be difficult as Fordingbridge would come at us, and that's how it proved. Fordingbridge grabbing an equaliser and then soon taking the lead. I feared the worse then as the CK heads dropped for five minutes but then midfielders James Broadbent, Brandon Tulk, Matt Lovering and Harry Plummer began again to dominate and another cool finish from Charlie Hampton made it 3-3. With a small lapse in concentration the quick Fordingbridge striker took advantage to run between the back line to make it 4-3. Dan Graham then came on to tighten up the CK defence which allowed Jord Mumford to push forward and nearly making an equaliser with a lob just inches wide. Twelve players today soaked and covered in mud, disappointed with losing but I hope as proud of their performance as I am. For the second week running an independent referee coming over and saying what a good bunch of lads and congratulating how well we played and that we deserved at least a point. Echoed by the opposition manager who knew his high flying team had been out battled and outplayed for a lot of the game. Player of the match is shared between Harry Plummer and Brandon Tulk who had their best games so far for CK. Both fought well and took the game to a much bigger Fordingbridge midfield. Big thanks to the boys and all the parents who came to support in awful conditions. Well done everyone.
