CK Andover U12's 2-3 Clatford Royals
First game against last years first opponents proved again a tough Match, but the lads were totally up for it!!
We started the first half uphill which always seems to be our nemesis!! we came under very early pressure from a good Clatford side, but we weathered a couple of chances until 5 mins in when they shot from the edge of the box to go high into the top corner to give Tyler no chance at all.

After that disappointment we started getting into our passing game, we were just a little unlucky with the final ball just not quite making it. With the match very tight and CK dominating there opposition and really very unlucky with a couple of half chances we began to get tired and Clatford chose that moment to get a very lucky goal again giving Tyler no chance at all.

With half time approaching we began to really start fighting for the ball, but just losing our shape where we were pushing up trying to get that deserved goal. Unfortunately we left ourselves exposed at the back and again Clatford pounced to get another goal via a deflection!!

With the lads very despondent they held on till half time.

We talked to the lads at half time about keeping their shape, making the final ball count and shoot on site then sent them out to fight for the CK Badge.
Now playing downhill they seemed to get the upper hand very quickly but just couldn't break them down. Ciaran, Josh and Ben all coming close and each of them hitting the cross bar!! We just weren't getting that little bit of luck that Clatford were getting!!!
We made a few Substitutions to try and keep putting them under pressure, with no luck still, until the last 5 mins when I asked ET & JP which one of them wanted to come on as I wouldn't have time to bring them both on and James said put ET on because he liked playing in midfield more than him!! So I put ET on and within a minute Sammy Morley put in a fine cross for ET to side foot straight over the approaching keeper to score his first CK goal!! Even better he took it so well considering it was his first touch!

That goal gave the whole team the lift they needed and within a minute Ciaran pounced onto another fine through ball from Archie to calming slot the ball into the bottom corner, great finish.

With the seconds counting down and CK putting Clatford under some great pressure we earned a corner. Tyler even came up for the corner!! The whole team were buzzing but Ben's corner just fell short and the ball went for a goal kick.
If the team show the same dedication they did in the following matches as they showed in the last 10mins of this match they will have a great season, well done lads
