MATCH REPORTS
15 September 2013: CK Andover v Overton PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
The game started with CK attacking from the start Forcing Overton to defend with great determination and when CK did get a chance to shoot found their Keeper hard to beat after a series of corners finally CK took the lead from a thumping header from Connor Mumford after a super delivery of a corner from Matthew Rooke. CK continued to attack but could not find that 2nd goal the football was good to watch with CKs passing and moving working well especially down the left flank with Luke Nulty playing very well.
Half time - CK Andover 1 Overton 0
After the break it was more of the same CK pressing forward well with good passing and movement the communication also improved just as we had asked the second goal eventually came with some good link up play and a super through ball from Connor to Ben Synan who controlled well showed good composure and smashed in from the edge of the box. CK Continued to press and work hard and were unlucky not to add to the score line. Then entering the last 5 Minutes of the game CK allowed a long hopeful punt forward catch them out and Overton scored their goal CK regained their confidence and played out the game relatively safely Man of the Match went to Angus McMahon for an excellent display in central midfield (the best I have seen him play for me ever) he battled for everything defended superbly when required and broke up the play and started some fine attacking chances.

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort and commitment showed today What pleased me most today was when you were given your chance on the pitch you took it with both hands and made my decision making substitutions VERY hard the play was good to watch and you all wanted to stay on the pitch more of the same please I would much rather struggle and have to think really hard what changes and who to change than for you to make my life easier (more of the same every week please). I was also happy that when we conceded with a silly goal we did not panic like last year and then concede again we regained our composure and shape and continued to play football and saw the game out in relative ease Well done all again and see you Tuesday.
