19 October 2013: CK Andover Vs Overton
CK travelled to Overton for what should have been an evenly matched game. Unfortunately though, Overton were the stronger, more physical side and we allowed them to dominate the game. At half time we were a goal down and soon into the second half Overton made it 2. With some tired and injured players, but never giving up Luke Borley brought the game back to life with a well deserved goal. CK then started to play some nice football and man of the match Michael McDonnell keeping the hope alive with some very strong and energetic defending. On another day I think we could have won this game but today the final score Overton 2-1 CK Andover

12 October 2013: CK Andover Vs Littleton
Playing at home against Littleton, who have played 4 and lost 4, should have made for a confident game. Never to keep things simple though and the boys made hard work of this game, going a goal down within the first 10 minutes, giving Littleton belief that they could get their first win of the season. Luke Borley had other ideas though, scoring his first of the game just before half time. An inspirational team talk at half time fired the boys up and Luke went on to score a further 2 goals to seal his third hat trick of the season. Liam Stuthridge then scoring a fourth. A final consolation goal for Littleton wasn't enough for them and the final score CK Andover 4-2 Littleton.
Not a convincing performance, but a good 3 points.

05 October 2013: CK Andover Vs Clarendon
CK Andover 6-3 Clarendon

CK started this game on a high from last weeks game at Shipton and kept the line up as it finished in that game. With almost a full squad, this gave us a very healthy bench and boys keen to get onto the pitch.
Both teams started the game looking strong, but Clarendon scored first with an early goal. CK responded with a composed goal from Callum James.
With a further 2 goals from Clarendon, CK piled on the pressure and on form captain Will Morton added to his season goal tally with a second for CK. Shortly before half time, Luke Borley took a piece of the action, scoring CKs third, taking the score level at half time.
The half time team talk was all about keeping the boys positive and giving them the belief that we could win and it worked. A strong defence frustrated Clarendon, with man of the match Michael McDonnell working hard and clearing up every attempt on goal.
Bartek Wyrwa then scored the fourth for CK and Luke Borley challenged his own goal of the season from last week with a fifth, closely followed by a sixth and hat-trick goal to seal the win.
I am very happy with the result today, we played well, scored some great goals and fully deserved the 3 points. As a team we are becoming stronger and more positive every week, giving us all the belief that great times are coming!

28 September 2013: Shipton Bellinger Rams vs CK Andover FC
Shipton Bellinger Rams 4-3 CK Andover

CK travelled to Shipton for a tough game with only 2 subs. Shipton scoring the first, but Will Morton soon grabbing one back. The teams seemed evenly matched throughout and the scoreline clearly showed this. Another goal for Shipton was closely followed by contender for goal of the season from Luke Borley. At half time the score 2-2.
Even with tired legs and injuries to a few of the boys, CK put in a strong second half, with Callum James scoring a superb first goal for CK.
Now leading 3-2 the final whistle just wouldn't come quick enough and a tense final 10 minutes followed.
An unexpected kick from Shipton's keeper caught us off guard and the equaliser came against the run of play.
CK never gave up and when Shipton scored their fourth, every player worked their hearts out, looking for another, but today it was not meant to be.
I am proud of every one of the boys today, with 100% given by each and every one of them for the whole game.
Man of the match today goes to Callum Taylor for a strong defensive game, he worked his socks off, despite being injured for most of the second half.
We take the buzz from todays game into next week at home to Clarendon.

21 September 2013: CK Andover FC vs Worthys
CK Andover 2-2 Worthys

Right from the off CK looked the likely winner in this game. Less than a minute in and Captain for the day, Will Morton scored a great first goal for CK. Shortly after Will netted his second and at half time CK were comfortably dominating the game.
However this game really was to be a game of 2 halves. A disallowed goal and a yellow card for CK seemed to change the atmosphere and Worthy's took advantage of this. Scoring two goals in quick succession and looking like more could follow, CK were lucky to hold on to the 1 point.
We were all disappointed with the draw today, feeling more like a loss, but again we take the positives and we will be encouraging the boys to do the same.

14 September 2013: Hants Cup Round 1
CK Andover 0-10 Stockbridge FC

We always knew this was going to be a tough draw against local side Stockbridge.
However a great training session before the game gave the belief and encouragement that all of the boys were up for the challenge.
The first 30 minutes went exactly as we had hoped with a strong defence, frustrating the Stockbridge players and coaches and giving the CK players the hope that we could actually do it.
Unfortunately a classy goal from the opposition caused the CK heads to drop and a further sloppy two goals just before half time in theory secured their win.
At half time we tried to lift the boys but back on the pitch heads were down and an inevitable 8 more goals went in.
We will be taking the positives from the first 30 minutes of the game into our first league game next week against Worthy's.
Man of the Match goes to Matt Castle for a brave, vocal game.
