12 September 2015: CK NEARLY COMPLETE COMEBACK
CK ANDOVER 3 South Wonston 4

CK made a dream start to their ADSL season with a super goal in the opening five minutes. Some good pressure saw the ball break to Paul Field who produced a great pass to an oncoming Ryan Morgans who with a great finish slotted the ball into the far corner. Wonston then took advantage of a high CK back line and with balls over the top to their quick forwards they punished CK to turn the game around. A rattled CK saw them trail 1-3 at the break. CK then had to reshuffle with injuries to Matt Scard and Paul Field. The second half was always going to be tough and when Wonston added a fourth early on CK could have been on the end of a hammering but to the squads credit they found a new level. Changing to a 4-4-2 gave Mark Alexander more support up front and with Mark Griffith moving to outside left CK became more of a threat. This gave its due rewards as a cross in from the left caused problems in the Wonston defence and Ryan Morgans reacted first to hit an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. Wonston now began to panic more and with CK on their touch at every pass they began to create more chances. With 10 minutes remaining CK were right back in it. More good work from the energetic Mark Griffiths saw the cross come in for Jordy Mumford to head home. The remaining minutes saw CK trying to find the equaliser but it was not to be. A good fighting performance from the squad with captain Leon Wilson leading by example, Mark Alexander working tirelessly upfront, Jamie Healy showing real fight in the middle, and player of the match George Hoare making the difference when coming on and dealing with every Wonston long ball.

20 August 2015: CK TAKE MANY POSITIVES
CK ANDOVER 1 Kings Royal Hussars 5

From the start it was clear that the Hussars had brought a much stronger squad to Barrow Hill for this friendly but CK started well with both teams having some early chances. With players missing CK had to reshuffle and this caused CK to take some time in organising their formation. The Hussars took advantage of this and took a two goal lead, using the slope and long throws to cause confusion in the CK box. They added a third when the Hussars striker was allowed space to turn from a corner and he slotted home. The CK midfield and defence then started to get more into the game and began putting some passes together which resulted in some god chances to get back into the game but our composure just let us down at the vital moment. HT 0-3
Trailing 3-0 at half time we spoke about trying to make the pitch smaller and this in turn allowing us to pressure in numbers. The team took this on board with Paul Field, Callum Lopez Holdway, and the impressive Ross Richards hassling the Hussars players quicker and to better effect. The defensive line of Keiron Odey, Rhys Colllins, Leon Wilson, and Jay Humphries also pushing on more not allowing the space the Hussars had in the first half and for a time it looked like CK might just get back into the game but as with all good teams Hussars struck at the right time. A good passing move ended with the Hussars striker finishing well. With the CK heads down a fifth was soon added. With some more fresh legs coming on CK then found new belief and began to push the Hussars back and find space behind them. This resulted with George Daykin running through and producing a sublime lob over the advancing keeper to give CK a much deserved consolation goal. So although CK experienced their first defeat of the season all the squad deserve a huge amount of credit. They fought well and in spells produced some good football. A very worthwhile work out for the squad.

29 July 2015: CK CONTINUE IMPRESSIVE PRE SEASON
CK ANDOVER 4 Kings Royal Hussars Res 3

CK continued their pre season with an outstanding win against a competitive Hussars team. Some changes from Saturday saw captain Leon Wilson slot into central defence with Micky Pitt and Ross Richards coming into the midfield. Straight from the off CK pressed high and early and put the Hussars under intense pressure, Tackling on their first touch time after time. The inspirational Paul Field leading the midfield well and forward Jamie Healy leading the line and closing down well. It was this pressure that earned CK their first goal. Closing down all the way back to the keeper saw Ryan Morgans capitalise on his error and slot home. It wasn't long before CK added a second thanks to a superb goal from Jordy Mumford striking home from outside the box. Hussars then caught CK asleep when the Hussars winger had time and space to finish well into the far corner. CK had to then reshuffle as George Hoare had to go off with a hamstring injury, Aston Young coming on and moving to the left wing. Just before half time CK then scored the goal of the game. With poccession deep in their own half Jordy Mumford laid the ball off to Paul Field who back heeled to the advancing Micky Pitt, his inch perfect through ball was meant by the excellent run of Ryan Morgans who picked his spot to make it 3-1 and his second. From defence to a goal in 3 passes with pace. HT 3-1.
The second half saw Murray Yelf and Jason Humphries come on and CK continued to win the first and second balls and when the ball broke to Jordy Mumford he took on two defenders before finding the corner of the net for his second. CK then seemed untroubled until in the final 15 minutes Hussars grabbed a goal back, then within minutes scored again. CK then had to dig deep with the midfield working hard and the back line solid especially Rhys Collins who didn't put a foot wrong all game. With George Daykin and Chris Edgecumbe coming on to provide some fresh legs CK held for a deserved win. They controlled the game for a good 75 minutes with a high pressure quick passing game and then when they had to show some fight they did.

25 July 2015: CK MAKE WINNING START
CK ANDOVER 4 Lardi Royals 3

The CK fun day saw the senior team in their first competitive match together against a physical Lardi Royals team. The formation worked well and CK were dominant in the first 45. The back four of George Hoare, Matt Scard, Gareth Bateson, and Rhys Collins were solid and keeper Dan White untroubled. However it was CK that fell behind being caught out by a long ball that was misjudged and the Lardi winger finished well. The lead did not last long as Matt Scard carried the ball out from defence unchallenged and from outside the box finished superbly into the far corner. CK continued to press with Keiron Odey providing some excellent through balls to the quick wide play of Jordy Mumford and Ryan Morgan who troubled the Lardi defence all match. CK had chances to take the lead but could not convert the chances created. HT 1-1.
The non stop closing down and hard work of Captain Leon Wilson and Jamie Healy started to take its toll so some changes were made with Kevin Warwick coming into the back line and the vocal Paul Field fitting into the holding role. However in a mirror of the first half it was Lardi who retook the lead. Again a long clearance was not dealt with and the Lardi forward poked home, and as before CK were soon level as Leon Wilson now up front found space in the box and calmly slotted home. Keeper Dan White then made some fine saves to keep the scores level. This gave the team some new confidence and they started to allow the Lardi back line to push high which allowed space behind for the pacey CK attack. This soon gave its rewards as CK scored twice in quick succession through two great finishes from Fudgie (real name to follow) and Jordy Mumford. A tiring CK did allow Lardi to score a consolation late on but held on to come out deserved 4-3 winners.
