15 December 2013: Eastleigh Youth v CK Andover Hampshire cup 4th Rd
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd.

In very tough conditions and up against a very good Eastleigh Youth side who are currently top of the Tyro League Div 1. From the start CK challenged for every ball and did not let Eastleigh settle and play. The game was a very physical and both teams were giving everything with both sides forcing the defences and goal keepers into working hard, The Midfielders battled for control of the game and both sets of strikers were feeding on scraps. Then first chance of the game came when their sticker ran through and found himself one on one with William Stevens who came out made himself big and saved well the rebound went to their left winger and who controlled well but before he do anything Luke Nulty made a fantastic challenge and forced the ball out for a throw in. Again the game carried on at a fast and furious pace with neither team able to play their football. Then with 5 minutes to go before halftime CK conceded a penalty which was despatched well by their striker giving William no chance.

Half time, Eastleigh Youth 1 CK Andover 0

After the break both teams played in the same vein as the first half and each side had opportunities to score. Both keepers made some good saves and all outfield players battled and fought for everything Finally CK got the goal they deserved after some good passing and link up play the ball was fed into Lloyd Thompson who controlled well and laid back a great pass to Connor Mumford who hit it first time high into top left corner giving their Keeper no chance. Eastleigh then scored their second goal. Again the game carried on at a fast and physical pace and CK scored the equaliser 5 minutes later when the ball broke to Lloyd Thompson in the area and he coolly lobbed the keeper and into an empty net. Then with 10 minutes remaining CK surged forward with a great run from Cameron Nicel and he played a nice ball to Ben Synan in the left channel who fired home well, over the keeper. Eastleigh responded well and tried to get the equaliser but when they had got through the midfield and defence William was there to make some good saves and the CK Boys battled well and saw the game out.

Man of the Match was a real tough decision with each boy deserving it but it went to William Stevens who played with great bravery made 2 fantastic saves when Eastleigh were through one on one, also his handling today was first class in very wet, muddy and tricky conditions.

Full Time, Eastleigh Youth 2 CK Andover 3

Overall boys I am over the moon with the effort, passion and belief you ALL played with today against some very good opposition and in very difficult conditions we went 1 down and responded brilliantly It was not a day for passing and movement it was a battle but when we did get the time to play we scored some very good goals, Communication was good the tackling and commitment showed was first class my decisions of making substitutions was really hard. I am SO Proud and excited by the season your having what you can achieve this season is frightening as long as you BELIEVE it can happen. Well done again and see you all Tuesday.

08 December 2013: Cold Ash v CK Andover PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
CK started this VERY important game Slowly, Nervously and Poorly by the standards they have set themselves so far this season and the Passing and Movement that had been brilliant last week totally disappeared and CK found themselves not being able to string 3 passes together the game became very scrappy and congested within the middle of the pitch and this suited Cold Ash who were more committed and determined than the CK Boys, Although Jayed, Jordan and Cameron were trying to get the boys ticking and playing the spark would just not ignite. Then the one time CK Played some football they passed them themselves into a good position within the Cold Ash box and won a corner the corner was not a super delivery as in previous weeks but instead was a daisy cutter which somehow found its way into the box and Jordan Alexander smashed home from 6 yards to make it 1-0 I hoped that this would calm the boys down and give them the confidence to kick on and start playing the good football i have come to expect from them but it did not.

Half time, Cold Ash 0 CK Andover 1

After the break and a strong team talk from the coaches CK actually started playing football with some good passing and moving football, especially Within the Middle of the Park with Cameron Jayed and Connor getting involved in the game and down the wings with both Jordan Alexander and Luke Nulty doing well battling for everything and playing some good link up play with the central midfielders and Forwards. CK scored their second through Lloyd Thompson after some great wing play and a super cross from Connor Mumford, Then came a super Team Goal it started With Jordan Alexander who passed to Cameron who went on a little run beating a couple of players then passed to Lloyd who controlled well and slipped it back to Jordan who had moved into good space on the right wing he then put a good delivery into the box where Ben Synan controlled on his chest and smashed home. This really kicked the boys into life and they started to pass the ball around quickly, effectively and the interplay and movement was getting good too. CK soon scored again when Connor Mumford headed in well after some good work and cross by Ben. The next goal was scored in complete reverse than the last with Connor playing the good wing play and crossing for Ben to tap home. The last goal was one that was truly deserved for pure effort Jayed Alam picked the ball up just inside the Cold Ash half and ran at the defence and with some super skill forced himself in the area and although he got tackled the ball broke to Luke who slipped it back through to Jayed who turned and shot high into the net. Although Cold Ash had a couple of chances to pull a goal back CK controlled and defended well and although CK could not find the net again they did go close on several occasions.

Full Time, Cold Ash 0 CK Andover 6

Man of the Match went to Jayed Alam as he battled for everything made some great attacking runs and was strong on and off the ball and linked up well with the Forwards. Well done today Jayed a brilliant display for the whole game and all your hard work was capped off with a fully deserved goal.

Overall boys I was pleased with the result today more than the football, the first half we looked Nervous, asleep and as if you'd never played a game together ever. but the second half performance you did just as we asked and spoke about at half time - keeping the ball, the passing and movement your shape winning the ball back when we had lost it. You did it very well. But I felt the communication in both halves could have been better. Well done again and see you all Tuesday.

01 December 2013: Woolton Hill v CK Andover PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd.

Todays PHYL Div 1 game against Bottom of the League Woolton Hill looked like game that was very winnable on paper but was also a game that if the boys did not turn and play with full concentration and desire one that could quite easily turn into a banana skin. Straight from the start CK played some really good passing and moving football probably some of the best this season the triangles and movement off the ball was superb. Cameron Nicel got the first of the game heading in from a super delivery of a corner from Matthew Rooke, Soon after Jayed Alam scored a great goal after some good passing he found space on the edge of the area took it past a defender and slotted home nicely. The third goal came from Lloyd Thompson when he raced onto a super through ball and put his shot away well nicely into the corner, Connor Mumford then scored again finishing off another piece of good team football, Luke Nulty then scored his first of the game following up well from another corner which had caused confusion and panic in the Woolton area, Lloyd then scored another following up after the keeper had spilled a shot from Jayed. Luke then scored the best goal of the game when linking up well with Lloyd who played the ball into space down the line Luke then cut in past a defender and smashed in from 20yards out into the top Right hand corner, the Eighth goal came when Alex Farrow scored following up well from a Connor shot.

Half time, Woolton Hill 0 CK Andover 8

At the Break we asked the boys to keep their intensity and not take the foot off the gas and they did not let us down and scored again when Ben Synan ran onto a pass from Alex and put away coolly, Connor then scored his second of the game again a headed goal from a corner, Kieran Rowe then scored with a close range effort after a super run and cross from Luke, Connor then completed his hat-trick with what is now becoming a trade mark free kick from just outside the area. Jayed then scored his second of the game smashing in from the edge of the area after a good corner from Cameron had only partially been cleared. Ben then got his second of the game heading in well after good work and cross from Cameron. Lloyd then completed the scoring and secured his hat-trick when slotting home well from a well placed pass from Cameron.

Man of the Match went to Luke Nulty for some fantastic battling, passing and link up play, some great crosses and also 2 goals the second of which was a brilliant strike. That is your bench mark for the season not necessary 2 goals every week but defiantly that work rate.

Full Time, Woolton Hill 0 CK Andover 15

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort all of you put in today and felt the football was our best yet not just a 10 minute spell here and there but for 60 minutes today you were unplayable. My only negative today was that the communication could have been better, it did improve second half as we had asked but not enough I was also pleased with your attitudes when the game was won you all kept playing and pushing to the end. Well done to all of you again and see you Tuesday.

24 November 2013: CK Andover v Chineham Tigers PHYL Div1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
CK started this game really well and got off to a great start Forcing Chineham Tigers defend. CK took the early lead they deserved with a piece of really good play and a fantastic overhead kick from 20+ yards from Lloyd Thompson. CK really began turning the screw and were playing some of the best Passing Moving football so far this season the ball was constantly moving from side to side and they were using the width and space well. CK were constantly looking for the next pass and moving into the space to receive the ball. The communication was also good and the second goal came with a headed goal from Ben Synan after a super delivery from a corner from Matthew Rooke. The third goal was also scored by Ben after receiving a good ball in the channels ran through and slotted into the far corner. Connor Mumford then got into the act and hooked the ball over the advancing keeper after another good pass. The fifth was scored by Luke Nulty when the ball broke loose he managed to outsmart the defender swivel well and shoot the ball high into the top corner.

Half time, CK Andover 5 Chineham Tigers 0

After the break CK changed some of the players into different positions to prepare for the coming weeks, when we know a few players will be missing for various reasons. But the football played was not as good as the first and game began to get a little bogged down in the middle of the pitch with passes going astray and CK not using the width as they had in the first half. The game also became a lot more competitive and evenly matched. CK then conceded a goal when the Chineham forward had an easy tap in after some good work and cross from the Chineham wide player. Jordan Alexander then killed off Chineham and the game with a great header at the far post after another great delivery from a corner both side had further chances to score but could not put the ball in the net with both keepers making some good saves.

Man of the Match went to Cameron Nicel who was solid in defence when switched from midfield whilst playing in midfield played with great energy put in some super challenges and played some great passing and moving football.

Full Time, CK Andover 6 Chineham Tigers 1

Overall boys I was very pleased with the first half the football we played was simply brilliant the passing and movement was great to watch and even when those passes did not come off you kept going and trying to play in the right manner and the communication was good. Second half as a team we seem to drop a level and allowed Chineham a way back into the game. We made some changes at half time for no other reason than we have players missing over the next few weeks and I need to know who can play where and I was very impressed with all your attitudes to these changes but felt we let these changes affect our playing style and your confidence so we will need to work on that over the next few weeks a training. Well done to all of you again and see you Tuesday.

17 November 2013: AFC Newbury v CK Andover PHYL Div 1
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
As we thought Todays game against AFC Newbury was going to be a stern test and so it proved. Although the football was not pretty to watch the game itself was tough, Physical and a pulsating affair with both teams battling hard and fighting for everything. With Newbury playing a 4 3 3 formation and causing the CK defence real problems and soon took a deserved 1 0 lead with a well worked move finishing with a super through ball and slotted away nicely at Williams far corner. CK changed their formation from a 3 5 2 to standard 4 4 2 and this paid dividends when Connor played a nice ball over the top for Lloyd Thompson to run onto and lob the advancing keeper. Both teams had chances to take the lead but the defences and keepers played well to keep the scores levels.

Half time - AFC Newbury 1 CK Andover 1

After the break and a good team talk both teams upped their tempo and the tackles really began to fly with both teams eager to take control of the game and only some good saves from the Newbury keeper and William Stevens in the CK goal and also an effort which hit the CK bar kept the scores level Then with 10 minutes remaining a long ball forward from defence allowed Ben Synan to force a mistake from the Newbury defence and he lobbed a stranded keeper from the edge of the area this gave the CK boys a real lift and within a few minutes Lloyd had scored again after receiving the ball from a great pass from Jayed , Lloyd collected the ball 30 yards from goal ran at the defence beat a defender with some good skill and slotted past the keeper with ease. The game continued to be played at a fast pace but CKs fitness told in the end and saw the game out well.

Man of the Match went to William Stevens for making some good saves whilst the scores were level and communicating well with his defence. His confidence grew with every minute the game went on and his decision making getting better and better. Well done today Will a great performance and certainly one of your best this year especially as your team needed you today.

Full Time - AFC Newbury 1 CK Andover 3

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort and commitment today it was a real battle and tough game today against a really good team. The football played today was nowhere near our best and we still need to work hard on our passing, movement and communication. Again when you were given your chance on the pitch you took it with both hands and made my decision making substitutions VERY hard. I was also happy that when we conceded an early goal we responded very well fought even harder and never gave up .Well done all again and see you Thursday.

10 November 2013: Wellow Youth Hampshire Cup Rd 3
CK Andover U14s sponsored by SD Save Distributors and the Laundry room (UK) Ltd
CK started this Round 3 Hampshire Cup game very quickly and scored their opener after only 9 Seconds, Wellow Kicked off and Ben Synan closed down and challenged well winning the ball and playing it through to Lloyd Thompson who smashed home into the bottom corner. This stunned Wellow and CK dominated proceedings for 20 Minutes and deservedly increased their lead after good link up between Luke Nulty and Cameron Nicel whose cross was met at the near post by Connor Mumford who steered home. Wellow then began to come into the game and finding their feet scored their first goal after a poor clearance was hit home from the edge of the area. This rocked CK whom lost concentration and the rhythm of their passing and movement and quickly conceded again from another poor piece of defending and not clearing their lines quickly enough. Half time came at the right time for CK especially the manager and coaches who were grateful to go in level and it gave us time to regroup and refocus the players.

Half time, CK Andover 2 Wellow Youth 2

After the break and a good team talk the
CK boys came out and fought for everything much stronger and believing they could win the game but conceded a free kick just outside the area Unfortunately a costly slip and loss of balance let Wellow take the lead But CK responded brilliantly in the last 20 minutes with their fitness really showing and from a well worked throw in Luke found Jayed Alam who passed to Cameron Nicel on the edge of the area who smashed in an unstoppable equaliser. This reignited the spark and passion from the boys and 5 minutes later CK went ahead again when Lloyd Thompson battled well ran into the area took the ball pass the keeper and slotted home. Then a few minutes later Ben sealed the game running on to a great though ball and lobbed the advancing keeper Wellow pushed for a goal themselves to get them back into it but some good strong defending and goal keeping kept them at bay and CK saw the game out.

Man of the Match went to Jayed Alam who drove the team on well, Covered every blade of grass never bottled a challenge and his energy levels were the same in the last minute as they were in the first. An absolutely awesome display today Jayed keep it going.

Full Time, CK Andover 5 Wellow Youth 3

Overall boys I was very pleased with the effort and passion showed in the game particularly in the last 20 minutes the way you responded to conceding some poor and unfortunate goals today was amazing you ran and battled for everything. I felt the Passing, Movement and communication could of been better as we never really got that going today as well as we can. I was very impressed with the fitness levels shown for the whole 70 minutes those tough sessions on a Thursday certainly played a part AGAIN today. I am so proud and pleased for every single one of you today we have never got this far in the Hampshire cup before it is a real achievement and will only do us good and we can only learn from these experiences.
Today was about getting to the FOURTH round of the cup and we did it....WELL DONE and see you Tuesday.
