23 November 2013: Andover New Street 3 CK ANDOVER 1
I'm not 100% sure what was missing today but CK just could not find an answer to a New Street team who basically seemed to want it more. CK started slow and we're second to the ball on most occasions. Then individual errors and poor decision making allowed New Street to take a two goal lead. CK then just seemed to be shell shocked and could not get their passing game together at all. The second half saw CK with more fight but again individual errors allowed New Street to increase their lead. Now only playing for some pride CK to their credit forced New Street back and had 3 good chances to get back into the game but poor finishing again haunted us. Frustration then set in and Edward Farrow and Callum Holdway Lopez both got yellow cards for dissent and a foul respectively. CK finally grabbed a consolation goal through Jordy Mumford but it was too little too late for CK. As I said I'm not sure why our performance was lacking today and I'm feeling pretty low. I think we all need to help pick each other up after this result and move on to next weeks match.

16 November 2013: CK ANDOVER 3 Worthy's (blue) 1
Personally I think today was our worst performance in a long time. We showed a lack of skill in most areas of the game today and gave a display that in my opinion was not acceptable. I gave the squad quite an ear bashing after the game today and I hope they take the criticism on board and turn it into a positive for our next training session and match. The players effort is never in question but our actual skill and reading of the game today was woeful. Bad decisions all over the pitch, not passing, bad control, no communication, and our finishing and shooting was just shocking. That's my moan over and done with. I hope just a one off bad day at the office. Now the few positives. When we actually brought the ball under control and passed we scored 3 well taken goals. Good work from Jordy Mumford on the left allowed first James Broadbent to finish well and then Charlie Hampton to also put his chance away well. We also scored which may be an early contender for goal of the season. Kyle Fancy passing to Jord who then passed back to Kyle on the overlap, he drove into the box and then finished superbly with the outside of his right foot. CK led 3-0 at half time but we spoke about how poor we had played and what improvements needed to be made. Especially players taking on too many challenges and not releasing the ball quickly enough. I suppose the annoying part for me is this was not taken on board and we continued to ride 3 challenges and then loos the ball. Worthy's to their credit never gave up and grabbed a deserved consolation goal when a simple ball through the CK defence was not dealt with. So a win is a win but this squad of players are better than their performance today and they need to take on board what we say to them. Player of the Match goes to Kyle Fancy for his wonder goal and general attacking play from defence. Apologies to Dan Graham this morning who I did not manage to get on.

09 November 2013: Alderbury 2 CK ANDOVER 5
CK continued their good form with a fine away win played on a heavy pitch and non stop rain. Before the game we spoke about starting at a high tempo and CK did just that with Jordy Mumford beating 3 players and putting in a fine left foot cross for Charlie Hampton to finish superbly. Then old habits came to haunt CK as they could not deal with a corner and didn't take control of a bouncing ball allowing Alderbury to equalise. CK tried to keep passing the ball but the conditions did not suit that style of play and it became more of a battle in midfield, which as in previous games suited CK. A Fine ball through saw birthday boy Brandon Tulk in his new birthday boots smash the ball home. Soon after a great short corner involving Brandon and Tom Haynes resulted in James Brodbent putting an excellent header back in to the far corner. A great move and finish. At half time we knew that the next goal would be massive. CK started as they finished the first with fine attacking football and Charlie Hampton soon finished well to give CK some breathing space. Alderbury only had the ball over the top and the CK defence handled this brilliantly and kept a good high line. Then a good passing move by CK saw Charlie then show great strength and ride 3 challenges before completing a top hatrick. The game then seemed to lack pace as both teams struggled on the heavy pitch, Alderbury did grab a late consolation goal but CK had already wrapped up a fine win. A great display by the squad in difficult conditions both weather wise and the opposing managements teams comments and language but the CK players must all be applauded for their attitude and conduct. Special mention to Justin Miller who did not get on today but took the decision with terrific attitude. Player of the match goes to Kamil Lewandowski who was tireless in the CK midfield with challenge after challenge and always tried to use the ball productively. Well done boys we continue to add pressure on the top two.

19 October 2013: CK ANDOVER 3 Fordingbridge 3
Buzzing......I am so thrilled with today's performance and we were so close to capping it with all 3 points ! Playing against top of the league Fordingbridge. CK started superbly with Brandon Tulk producing an inch perfect cross which George Daykin smashed into the net. The referee telling me after goal timed at 26 seconds !! CK battled but Fordingbridge we're coming more into the match and putting CK under pressure and they got their rewards when scoring twice to lead 1-2 at half time. We spoke about things to improve and how they would play kicking down the slope second half. We spoke about showing them too much respect and giving them too much time on the ball. CK took that on board and closed down quickly all over the pitch. The referee let some hard tackles go for both sides and this suited CK as we not only matched them physically but then started to out muscle Fordingbridge and become a force ourselves. Then a throw into the penalty box saw Cullum Lopez Holdway being held down and a CK penalty. Jordy Mumford stepped up and although not his best strike slotted it home to make it 2-2. CK now were winning tackles everywhere and frustrating Fordingbridge. This resulted in CK being awarded a free kick. Cue Jordy Mumford to step up and power an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. CK then had to hold out and defended well but a lapse in concentration with only minutes left allowed Fordingbridge to score an equaliser. Another great performance by the squad and so nearly a perfect result. Player of the match goes to the whole squad and a special mention to Matt Lovering and Dan Graham who never got on but took the decision with great attitude. One thing I would like us to look at is our language on the field please. Although swearing is becoming more and more apparent against teams we play we do need to look at ourselves and not lower our standards please. So a big thank you to all the players and supporters today. I hope you are all as proud as I' m feeling right now !

12 October 2013: CK ANDOVER 1 Newport IOW 7
it was always going to be a tough ask for CK when drawn against Newport IOW and they proved a strong physical side. CK faced an even bigger uphill task when starting slow and finding themselves 2-0 down within the first few minutes. However then they started to settle and pressure the Newport players. That resulted in a well won free kick which Tom Haynes floated in and George Daykin finished well to make it game on. For the next 15-20 minute spell CK played some excellent football and matched the bigger Newport players. However a freak goal direct from a corner and another before half time ended the contest as Newport went in at half time 4-1 up. At half time we spoke about some of the comments the players had put on their Facebook page about never giving up and passion and asked if the players could find that pride in the second half. The squad did find that pride and much more. Although conceding another 3 goals they battled all half with some great challenges coming in from all the players particularly from Callum Holdway Lopez, Liam Ryan, Tom Haynes, Brandon Tulk, and player of the match Jordy Mumford who typified the CK spirit with his performance. Jordy also harshly booked for swearing when the referee heard his frustration but seemed to miss the Newport players constant bad language. So although a defeat CK should have their heads held high for their conduct and their performance. I am extremely proud of the boys in this squad. Many thanks to everyone who came and supported us today, I know it gave the boys that extra hearing you encourage them.

05 October 2013: Worthys (red) 2 CK ANDOVER 7
CK pressured from the start and took the lead within 2 minutes when Charlie Hampton finished well. Worthy's then started to come more into the game and maybe against the run of play and with some luck CK doubled their lead. Jordy Mumford heading onto Brandon Tulk to deflect into the corner. That seemed the pattern of the first half with pressure from Worthy's but CK breaking with with a further 2 goals with good finishing from Jordy Mumford and Charlie Hampton. Leading 4-0 at half time we wanted the team to be quicker to the ball and to communicate more. but it was Worthy's who grabbed the next goal. CK had no defensive line as they broke through to make it 4-1. That could have lifted them but within minutes CK had scored again with another fine finish from Jordy Mumford, who with Charlie then went on to both complete their hatricks. Surprisingly it was then Worthy's who finished the stronger and grabbed a deserved second goal. A great away win for the squad who by no means gave their best performance. Still a lot to work on in training including work on the back line and communication throughout the team. A lot says about today game when we won 7-2 but the player of the match award goes to Liam Ryan for a top defensive and vocal display. So a great win for the squad but capable of so much more.
